Trump Threatens Major Retaliation Against Iran
Tensions between the United States and Iran have escalated further after a series of attacks on Gulf states and Israel. On Friday, March 13, 2026, Iran launched multiple drone strikes on Saudi Arabia, in response to warnings from its new supreme leader about hosting American bases. US President Donald Trump has threatened major retaliation against Iran.
Trump took to social media to condemn the attacks, saying, “Watch what happens to these deranged scumbags today.” He claimed that Iran’s military capabilities have been severely damaged, and its leaders are being targeted. The US President also vowed to continue destroying Iran militarily, economically, and otherwise.
The situation has led to a surge in oil prices, with Brent crude reaching over $100 per barrel. Iran has continued to block the Strait of Hormuz, a strategic waterway through which a significant portion of the world’s oil transits. This has had a major impact on global energy supplies.
Meanwhile, violence has spread across the region, with airstrikes hitting areas around Tehran and outlying regions. In Iraq, an American refueling plane crashed, while in Israel, Hezbollah fired rockets at Israeli troops, causing minor injuries. One person was killed in southwestern Beirut in an Israeli strike.
The conflict has claimed thousands of lives, including over 1,300 in Iran, nearly 800,000 people displaced in Lebanon, and at least seven US soldiers killed. The situation remains volatile, with international powers like France, Britain, and Italy also involved in the conflict.
