UAE Defends Against Iranian Missile Attacks
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has successfully intercepted multiple Iranian missiles and drones targeting Abu Dhabi. These attacks have caused limited damage in areas like Musaffah, with debris sparking small fires. A Ghanaian national working at a company in the ICAD zone suffered moderate injuries from shrapnel.
In Fujairah, another Iranian drone targeted a building owned by telecom company du. No injuries were reported there, but assessments are ongoing. This marks the second such incident involving Iranian drones attacking UAE telecommunications infrastructure. Earlier, on March 30, a drone struck Thuraya Telecommunications Company in Sharjah.
Meanwhile, Kuwait’s air defences have also been active against Iranian missile and drone threats. Residents heard explosions believed to be from successful interceptions.
Diplomatically, the UAE, Kuwait, and other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries are working through international channels to push for de-escalation and urgent negotiations to prevent further conflict. The UAE has emphasized the need for a comprehensive resolution addressing broader regional security threats rather than just delaying tensions.
