Udhayanidhi Slams Centre, Calls Government Fascist
Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin on Friday strongly criticised the Central government, calling the Narendra Modi-led administration “fascist”. He accused the Centre of repeatedly interfering in the State’s constitutional and financial rights.
Speaking at a party gathering in Thanjavur, Udhayanidhi said the Central government has been unfair to Tamil Nadu through its policies and budget decisions. He claimed that the State is not getting its fair share of funds and support from the Centre.
He alleged that the Union government is trying to weaken Tamil Nadu by reducing its financial powers and limiting its rights in areas such as education. According to him, these actions are affecting the State’s development and welfare programmes.
Udhayanidhi further said the Centre is unable to accept Tamil Nadu’s progress and achievements. He claimed that the State has performed well in sectors like education, healthcare, and social welfare, and that this success is being ignored or undermined.
He accused the Central government of creating obstacles instead of supporting the State. He added that the rights guaranteed to States under the Constitution must be respected and protected.
Addressing party workers, he urged them to remain united and continue raising their voice against what he described as injustice by the Centre.
His remarks come amid ongoing tensions between the State and the Centre over issues such as fund allocation, education policies, and administrative powers.
