Ukraine and Saudi Arabia Agree on Defense Cooperation

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the President of Ukraine, announced an important defense agreement during his visit to Saudi Arabia on Friday (March 27).

In a message shared on social media, Zelenskyy said that the agreement will help both countries work closely in defense-related areas. He explained that this cooperation could lead to future contracts, new technology partnerships, and possible investments. However, he did not share detailed information about the deal.

Zelenskyy also highlighted the experience of Ukrainian experts in drone warfare. He said that Ukraine has gained strong knowledge in this field after more than four years of defending itself against attacks during the conflict with Russia. Many of these attacks involved drones believed to be made in Iran.

According to Zelenskyy, Ukrainian specialists are now helping five Gulf countries improve their defenses against similar drone threats. This shows how Ukraine is sharing its expertise with other nations facing security challenges.

Later the same day, Zelenskyy was scheduled to meet Mohammed bin Salman, the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia. The meeting was expected to focus on strengthening ties between the two countries and exploring further cooperation.

This visit highlights growing relations between Ukraine and Saudi Arabia, especially in defense and security matters. It also reflects Ukraine’s efforts to build international partnerships and expand its role in global security discussions.
