Ukraine searches Zelensky aide Yermak over corruption concerns
Ukraine’s anti-corruption agencies have started searching the apartment
of Andriy Yermak, the chief of staff to President Volodymyr Zelensky.
The National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) confirmed that it was allowed to
carry out the search and said more details would come later.
Several people close to Zelensky are involved in a corruption scandal, but
neither Zelensky nor Yermak has been accused of any crime.
Yermak is the president’s closest aide and has been involved in
decision-making during Russia’s full-scale invasion. He is also Ukraine’s
main negotiator in peace talks with the US, but critics are increasingly
calling for him to step down.
