Vijay Accuses DMK of Slander and Corruption
Actor and politician Vijay criticized the ruling DMK on X (formerly Twitter),
accusing the party of doing “slanderous politics” and spreading false information
about his party, the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK). He said the DMK was
targeting him and his party because it feared TVK’s growing influence ahead
of the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.
Vijay did not directly name the DMK, but he said that a party “blinded by
the arrogance of power” had started a coordinated campaign to damage his and
TVK’s reputation. He claimed that the ruling party had made slander — spreading
lies and false charges — a regular political strategy since 1969.
Vijay also accused the party of being driven by corruption and bribery.
He said such actions showed the party’s moral decline and disrespect for
democracy.
Supporters of TVK shared Vijay’s post widely, saying that their leader was
being unfairly attacked because his party was gaining support among the people.
Vijay’s statement has added to the growing political tension in Tamil Nadu as
different parties prepare for the 2026 election.
