Vijay Stresses Unity at Christmas Event

TVK president Vijay said his new party will strongly protect social and
religious harmony in Tamil Nadu and will not compromise on it. He said this
during the party’s Christmas celebrations held in Chennai on Monday.

In his short speech, Vijay said TVK is a secular party that respects all religions.
Speaking to the Christian community, he said, “We will be fully firm in protecting
social and religious harmony. There will be no compromise.” He added that true faith
brings unity and teaches people to respect the beliefs of others. He also said that
after entering politics, the party openly stated its belief in God. Muslim leaders
were also present on the stage at the event.

Vijay spoke about the Biblical character Joseph, who was betrayed by his brothers
and thrown into a pit, but later rose to power and led people towards prosperity.
He pointed out that his own full name is Joseph Vijay. Ending his speech, he said,
“A light will be born.”

Indian Christian Ministries Council (ICMC) president R Rameshkumar said that
underearlier Dravidian governments, minority demands were met only after long
struggles. He said he hoped that when Vijay becomes chief minister in 2026,
important demands of the Christian community would be fulfilled. He also said
the ICMC would support Vijay and help bring more political parties into the TVK alliance.
