Young Star Shines in RR Win Against RCB
Guwahati (Assam), April 11: Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Rajasthan Royals’ 15-year-old batting prodigy, shared his thoughts after a standout performance against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). He explained that he focuses on playing the ball rather than worrying about who is bowling. His aggressive innings helped RR chase down 202 and secure a six-wicket victory.
Sooryavanshi hit an explosive 78 runs off just 26 balls, including eight fours and seven sixes. He particularly impressed against Josh Hazlewood and Bhuvneshwar Kumar, scoring 18 runs off four deliveries to Hazlewood and 16 runs in an over against Bhuvneshwar. This performance not only earned him the Player of the Match award but also made him the IPL’s leading scorer with 200 runs in four matches.
Despite his success, Sooryavanshi expressed disappointment at being dismissed early, as he believed staying longer could have added more runs or finished the chase sooner.
Rajasthan Royals continued their winning streak with this victory, extending to four straight wins. Their strong batting partnership of 108 runs between Sooryavanshi and Dhruv Jurel laid the foundation for a dominant chase. Ravindra Jadeja also contributed an unbeaten 24, helping RR reach the target in 18 overs.
Earlier, RCB had posted 201/8, led by captain Rajat Patidar’s 63 and Venkatesh Iyer’s late cameo. However, their efforts weren’t enough against Royals’ powerful batting display.
