AI demand to soar, says AMD CEO Lisa Su

Big tech companies have invested millions of dollars in AI and billions in data centers worldwide to support this technology. Hardware companies like Nvidia and AMD are benefiting greatly from the AI boom, earning much more as demand for AI grows.

While some experts believe AI may just be another bubble—similar to the dot-com boom—others, including AMD CEO Lisa Su, are confident that demand for AI will grow rapidly in the coming years.

Speaking in a live discussion with Bloomberg Tech in Las Vegas, Su said that AI is “not just hype”. She predicted that the global number of AI users could grow to 5 billion people in the near future.

Su also explained that the need for AI data centers will rise dramatically, with computing power expected to reach 10 yottaflops. She added that the computing power of data centers will need to increase by 100 times over the next four to five years to meet this demand.

This shows that AI is not only a current trend but also a long-term growth opportunity for tech companies, hardware manufacturers, and data center providers. With billions of users expected to rely on AI services in the future, experts believe that the technology will continue to shape industries, innovation, and global economies.
