Gujarat Signs LoI with Starlink for Internet
The Gujarat government on Monday (February 9, 2026) signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) with Starlink to work together on providing high-speed satellite internet in remote, border, and underserved areas of the state.
The agreement was made with Satellite Communications Private Limited, a subsidiary of Elon Musk’s SpaceX. The signing ceremony was held in Gandhinagar and attended by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi, according to an official statement.
The LoI was exchanged between State Industries Commissioner P. Swaroop and Starlink India Head Prabhakar Jayakumar.
This collaboration aims to bring fast and reliable internet to areas that are currently difficult to connect with traditional broadband networks. By using Starlink’s satellite technology, people in remote and border regions of Gujarat will have better access to digital services, education, healthcare, and business opportunities.
Officials said the partnership will help Gujarat bridge the digital divide and promote economic growth in underserved areas by providing world-class internet connectivity.
