Heatwave Alert for Interior Tamil Nadu on Polling Day

As Tamil Nadu gears up for polling day, the Regional Meteorological Centre has issued a heatwave alert for north and interior parts of the state. On Friday, temperatures are expected to soar above 40 degrees Celsius in districts like Tiruvallur, Karur, Tiruchi, Vellore, Perambalur, Salem, and Erode.

With the heatwave expected to last until April 22, residents are advised to take necessary precautions. The IMD has issued an advisory to help people combat heat stress during this period. While temperatures are expected to drop gradually after April 21 due to cool easterly winds, rain may bring some relief in certain areas.
