Sri Lankan National Arrested for Possessing Fake Indian Passport

The Central Crime Branch (CCB) arrested a 28-year-old Sri Lankan national in Chennai for possessing a fraudulently obtained Indian passport. Nivethanan Sivanesan was apprehended for attempting to travel to Colombo using the fake passport.

Investigation revealed that he entered India in 2008 using his Sri Lankan passport and later obtained Indian identity documents, including Aadhaar card, Voter ID, and PAN card, to fraudulently acquire an Indian passport while suppressing his true nationality.
