When we come across the term - Painters day, the first thing that strikes our mind is that of artists who paint portraits and create wonders. What we forget are the painters who make our day to day lives beautiful by revamping our houses. The Indian Paint Association, in association with Nippon Paint and ICI Dulux honored these painters by celebrating Painters day, first of its kind in the city.

The event aimed at adding colors to the lives of these people, at least for a day. This half-a-day event saw over a hundred painters drawn together and had a medical camp conducted by the Rotary club of Madras. It also had lectures on paint application skills and a game station.
Cheering the crowd gathered was Ari-Giri Assembly famous Bosskey. The stand-up comedy by him seemed to be the most amusing and enjoyable part of the event. Sharing the funny incidents he comes across in his everyday life and other jokes, he succeeded in keeping the audience glued to the showground for about two hours.
The organizers claimed that this will happen ritually every year and in a much bigger scale. In the years to come, the event will be such that it will also benefit the families of these painters and have competitions with the winner's prize being worth 1 lakh rupees. Such associations and celebrations are to gear up small sections of societies whom we fail to notice.
