Canada and India Resume Trade Deal Talks
Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand said on Monday (November 24, 2025) that Canada and India will move quickly to work on a trade deal.
Canada and India will now work quickly to move forward with a trade deal after
two years of tense relations. She said this change comes as Canada has introduced
a new foreign policy in response to U.S. President Donald Trump’s trade war.
Her statement came after a meeting between Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney
and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the G20 summit in South Africa.During the meeting, both leaders agreed to begin trade deal talks again.
