New Escalators Coming to Taramani, MEPZ, Chromepet

Good news for pedestrians: foot overbridges (FOBs) at Taramani, MEPZ, and Chromepet will soon have new escalators. The Highways Department has ordered five pairs of escalators, costing around ₹7.5 crore.

The old broken escalators have been removed, and the company responsible has promised to repair them soon. According to Highways Department sources, installing one pair of escalators will take about 10–15 days.
