President Murmu Presents Bal Puraskar on Veer Bal Diwas
President Droupadi Murmu presented the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar on the occasion of Veer Bal Diwas in New Delhi today. This year, 20 children from 18 States and Union Territories received the award for their outstanding achievements.
Speaking at the event, the President said the awards would encourage the young achievers and also inspire children across the country. She noted that the award-winning children have shown exceptional talent and courage in fields such as bravery, art and culture, environment, innovation, and science and technology.
President Murmu said Veer Bal Diwas is observed every year to honour the sacrifice of Sahibzada Baba Zorawar Singh ji and Baba Fateh Singh ji, the young sons of Sri Guru Gobind Singh ji. She said their great sacrifice continues to inspire generations.
The President added that when children grow up with patriotism and strong values, it helps build a humane and strong nation.
