Over 30 Lakh Devotees Visit Sabarimala
More than 30.56 lakh devotees have visited the famous Sabarimala temple during the current Mandala Pooja season. So far, the pilgrimage has brought in a total revenue of ₹332.77 crore, according to Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) president K. Jayakumar.
On Saturday, thousands of pilgrims reached the hill temple to take part in the Mandala Pooja. This special ritual marks the end of the 41-day first phase of the annual pilgrimage season. The temple saw a huge rush as devotees gathered to witness the important pooja.
The Mandala Pooja was performed after the idol of Lord Ayyappa, the main deity, was dressed in the “thanka anki”, a sacred golden outfit. The golden attire was brought to the Sannidhanam, the temple area, in a traditional procession on Friday evening.
Temple officials said detailed arrangements were made to handle the large crowd and ensure smooth darshan for devotees. The Mandala Pooja is one of the most important events at Sabarimala, drawing pilgrims from across the country who take part with deep faith and devotion.
