Five Jammu and Kashmir Employees Dismissed Over Militant Links
Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor’s administration on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, dismissed five government employees from service over their alleged links with militant groups, officials said.
The action was taken after Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha invoked Article 311 (2) (c) of the Constitution. This special provision allows the government to dismiss employees without a departmental inquiry if it is considered necessary in the interest of national security.
Officials said the decision to terminate the employees was based on reports from security agencies, which claimed that the individuals were involved in activities harmful to the country.
Meanwhile, the Jammu and Kashmir Police issued proclamation notices against three local residents, including businessman Mubeen Ahmad Shah and architect Tony Ashai. They were accused of being involved in anti-national and unlawful activities.
Authorities said these steps are part of ongoing efforts to strengthen security and curb militancy in the region. The administration stressed that strict action will continue to be taken against anyone found threatening public safety or national security.
