India Hands Over Vehicles to Support Nepal Elections
India has handed over the first batch of election-related assistance to Nepal to help the country prepare for its upcoming elections.
The assistance was given to Nepal’s Minister for Home Affairs, Om Prakash Aryal, by the Embassy of India in Kathmandu.
As part of the support, 61 double-cab pickup vehicles and other supplies were handed over by India’s Deputy Chief of Mission, Dr. Rakesh Pandey. The vehicles were provided at the request of the Government of Nepal to help with election preparations.
Home Minister Aryal said the vehicles would help ensure smooth management of the elections, including transportation of officials, materials, and security personnel.
India has been supporting Nepal with election-related assistance since 2008. Over the years, India has gifted around 2,400 vehicles to various ministries and departments in Nepal, including the Election Commission.
This support highlights the strong cooperation and friendly ties between the two neighbouring countries.
