Slow Cooked Chicken Tikka Masala Recipe
Slow Cooked Chicken Tikka Masala
Ingredients:
6–7 chicken pieces
2 tomatoes
2 onions
6–7 garlic cloves
1 tbsp ginger
2 dry red chillies
1 tsp turmeric powder
½ tsp black pepper
1 tsp coriander powder
1 tsp garam masala
1 bay leaf
2 cloves
1 star anise
Salt to taste
Cream and fresh coriander leaves for garnish
How to Make:
Season the chicken pieces lightly with salt, pepper, and red chilli powder.
Cook the chicken on high heat in a pan until it turns brown. Remove and set aside.
In a cooker or deep pan, heat some oil.
Add dry red chillies, bay leaf, cloves, and star anise to the oil.
Add the browned chicken, chopped onions, tomatoes, garlic, and ginger.
Cook until the vegetables soften. Then add salt, pepper, cardamom, garam masala, coriander powder, and turmeric powder.
Cover and let it cook slowly for at least 2 hours, stirring occasionally. Add a little water if needed.
Once the gravy thickens, remove from heat. Garnish with cream and fresh coriander leaves.
Serve hot with rice or naan.
This slow-cooked method makes the chicken extra tender and full of flavor, different from regular Chicken Tikka Masala recipes.
