India Sends Humanitarian Aid to Madagascar
India has sent humanitarian aid to support relief efforts in Madagascar after recent difficulties faced by people there. The assistance was delivered to help communities affected by disasters and to support ongoing emergency operations.
Randhir Jaiswal, spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs, shared the update in a social media post. He said that an aircraft of the Indian Air Force carrying relief supplies successfully reached Madagascar.
A C-17 transport aircraft carrying about 12 tonnes of medical supplies and 18 tonnes of disaster relief materials landed in Antananarivo, the capital of Madagascar.
The relief consignment includes life-saving medicines, surgical equipment, tents, water storage tanks, dignity kits, and ready-to-eat meals. These supplies are expected to provide urgent support to communities affected by the disaster and help local authorities continue rescue and relief operations.
Officials said the aid is part of India’s commitment to support friendly nations during humanitarian crises. The supplies will help improve medical care, provide temporary shelter, and ensure access to food and clean water for people who have been impacted.
India has often sent relief materials and assistance to countries facing natural disasters or emergencies. Authorities said such humanitarian missions reflect India’s role in supporting global relief efforts and helping communities recover from difficult situations.
