RCB’s IPL 2026 Squad Update
Yash Dayal will not join RCB for the 2026 IPL due to personal reasons, as confirmed by Mo Bobat. Josh Hazlewood is also expected to miss the initial matches because of injuries.
Mo Bobat revealed during a press conference that Yash Dayal won’t be part of the team right now. He shared that Yash is dealing with a “personal situation,” and RCB continues to support him while keeping him in their contract. However, it’s decided that Yash shouldn’t join the squad at this time for both his and the franchise’s best interests.
There has been speculation about Dayal facing legal issues. Notably, Yash joined RCB in 2024 for ₹5 crore and played a crucial role in helping them win their first IPL title last year by taking 13 wickets in 15 matches.
Additionally, star pacer Josh Hazlewood will miss the start of the tournament as he recovers from hamstring and Achilles injuries. Mo Bobat mentioned that RCB is regularly updating with Cricket Australia about his fitness and hopes he’ll join soon. Hazlewood was instrumental in RCB’s title win in 2023, taking 22 wickets in 12 matches at an impressive average of 17.54.
