Jos Buttler Finds His Form Again

Jos Buttler, a seasoned cricketer, knows that ending a dry spell requires persistence. Recently, his efforts paid off during Gujarat’s victory over Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Despite scoring only 87 runs across eight innings in the Twenty20 World Cup this year, Buttler showed signs of improvement with scores of 38 and 26 in Gujarat’s first two IPL games.

In their match against Delhi at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Buttler hit a crucial 52-run innings off 27 balls, including five sixes. His performance helped Gujarat reach 210-4. Equally important was his leadership behind the stumps during a tense final-over scenario.

With Delhi needing two runs to tie the match, David Miller attempted a single but failed. However, Buttler’s quick thinking and accurate underarm throw ran out Kuldeep Yadav, securing Gujarat’s win in their third game.

“Feeling great,” said Buttler after the match. “It was a lucky throw, but we needed this win.”

The 35-year-old also noted that his recent struggles were temporary and that he remained confident in his abilities.

Gujarat, who won the IPL title in their debut season in 2022, moved up to sixth place in the standings. They will face Lucknow Super Giants next.
