MS Dhoni Advises Noor Ahmads Crucial Bowling Spell Helps CSK Beat KKR
Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], April 15 (ANI): Chennai Super Kings’ assistant bowling coach Sriram Sridharan shared that MS Dhoni had a lengthy conversation with spinner Noor Ahmad before the latter delivered a match-winning performance against Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2026.
Noor Ahmed took three wickets for just 21 runs, including key dismissals of Ajinkya Rahane, Cameron Green, and Rinku Singh. This exceptional spell helped CSK secure a 32-run victory over KKR, earning Noor the Player of the Match award.
KKR, chasing 193, appeared to be on track with a strong partnership between Rahane and Angkrish Raghuvanshi. However, Noor’s dismissal of these key players halted their momentum, leaving them struggling at 160/7.
Sridharan mentioned that Dhoni had advised Noor to focus on his leg breaks during practice, which proved effective in the match. Akeal Hosein supported Noor well, taking four wickets together and conceding only 56 runs in their combined eight overs.
The coach praised the strong communication and teamwork between Noor and Akeal. Sridharan noted that Akeal guided Noor on the right lengths to bowl, which was crucial during the match.
Battling first, CSK scored 192/5 with standout performances from Sanju Samson (48 runs) and Dewald Brevis (41 runs). KKR’s chase started poorly but briefly improved with Rahane and Raghuvanshi’s 50-run stand. However, Noor’s spell turned the tide, reducing them to 90/6 and ultimately 160/7.
KKR remains winless, sitting at the bottom of the table. CSK has moved up to eighth place with four points. (ANI)
