“It was one of those days you get rewards”: Bhuvneshwar Kumar on RCB’s dominant win

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) defeated Delhi Capitals (DC) by nine wickets in New Delhi on Monday night. This win marked their sixth victory of the season. After restricting DC to 75/10, RCB chased down the target in just 6.3 overs, making it the second-quickest run chase in IPL history.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Josh Hazlewood were instrumental in the bowlers’ attack. Bhuvneshwar took three wickets for five runs, while Hazlewood claimed four wickets for 12 runs. Their early strikes put RCB firmly in control. Hazlewood’s performance was particularly standout, earning him the Player of the Match Award.

Reflecting on their bowling display, Assistant Coach Omkar Salvi praised the swing and seam movement, calling it “world-class.” Bhuvneshwar noted that the ball moved well, making it easier to take wickets early. He highlighted how rewards came from getting edges or dot balls, thanks to the swinging conditions.

Josh Hazlewood commended Bhuvneshwar’s skill, describing him as “outstanding” and a key player for RCB. Krunal Pandya also praised their exceptional bowling skills, calling it “something very special.”

Devdutt Padikkal contributed with a quick 34 off 13 balls, emphasizing the importance of chasing small targets aggressively to secure an early win.
