PM Modi Opens Ganga Expressway

Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially inaugurated the 594-kilometer-long Ganga Expressway in Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday, April 29, 2026.

This major infrastructure project connects Meerut in western Uttar Pradesh to Prayagraj in the eastern part of the state, passing through 12 districts along the route.

The Ganga Expressway is one of India’s largest expressway projects and is expected to significantly improve road connectivity, reduce travel time, and boost economic development across Uttar Pradesh.

Prime Minister Modi attended the inauguration ceremony in Hardoi district, where he formally launched the expressway by pressing a button to mark its opening.

Several senior leaders were present at the event, including Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

The expressway is designed to improve transportation, encourage trade, support industrial growth, and make travel more efficient for millions of people.

Officials believe the new highway will also help strengthen regional development by improving access between important cities and rural areas.

The Ganga Expressway is seen as a major milestone in Uttar Pradesh’s infrastructure expansion and reflects the government’s focus on modernizing transport networks across the country.
