Congress May Back TVK for TN Government Without BJP Support

Congress leaders in Tamil Nadu have indicated that they may extend support to actor-politician Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) in forming the next state government.

According to party sources on May 6, this possible support comes with one important condition — TVK must not seek any alliance, support, or cooperation from the BJP or any of its allies.

Congress leaders made it clear that their backing would depend entirely on TVK maintaining a firm distance from the BJP-led political camp. This condition reflects Congress’s strong opposition to the BJP and its continued strategy of preventing the party from gaining influence in Tamil Nadu politics.

Sources within Congress said discussions are ongoing, and an official public announcement regarding their final position is expected soon.

The move is being viewed as a strategic political decision aimed at ensuring stability in Tamil Nadu while also strengthening anti-BJP forces in the state.

Political analysts believe Congress’s willingness to support TVK could play an important role in shaping the future government, especially if election results create a situation where alliances are necessary.

For TVK, such support could significantly strengthen its position, but it may also require careful political balancing to meet Congress’s conditions while maintaining its own independent image.

This development highlights the changing political landscape in Tamil Nadu, where parties are actively exploring new partnerships and strategies as they position themselves for power.
