KTR Asks for Probe into PM Ekta Mall Tender in Hyderabad

BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) has written to Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, raising concerns about a proposed Rs 2,059-crore PM Ekta Mall project in Hyderabad.

The project is being developed by the Telangana government under Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. KTR has questioned the terms of the tender process and alleged that some conditions could give an unfair advantage to a private developer.

Concerns Over Public Land

According to KTR, the project is being developed on valuable government land in Hyderabad.

He has argued that public land should be used in a way that provides clear and long-term benefits to the people. Since the land belongs to the government, KTR believes the tender process should be completely transparent and designed to protect public interests.

He has therefore asked the Union Finance Minister to examine the project and the conditions included in the tender.

Central Government Support

The PM Ekta Mall project is also receiving financial support from the Central government.

KTR has questioned whether the proposed arrangement properly reflects the value of the public land and the financial assistance being provided.

He has argued that when both public land and government funds are involved, the benefits from the project should be fairly distributed and should not mainly go to a private company.

Questions Over Tender Conditions

A major part of KTR’s complaint concerns the conditions included in the tender document.
