SCO Must Unite Against Terrorism: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the need for unity within the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) to combat terrorism completely, including its funding and support systems. He stressed that there should be no tolerance for double standards in the fight against terrorism during his speech at the SCO summit in Kyrgyzstan’s capital.

Modi also highlighted the importance of resolving global conflicts through dialogue and diplomacy rather than military force. He noted that India supports initiatives that promote trade, connectivity, and development but warned that such efforts must respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all nations involved.

The Prime Minister’s remarks come as India continues to address issues related to Pakistan’s role in cross-border terrorism. He reiterated that terrorism cannot be addressed through battlefield solutions but requires a collective effort to dismantle its entire infrastructure.

Modi also outlined India’s vision for the SCO, which focuses on three key pillars: security, connectivity, and opportunity. He described the SCO as a platform where diverse cultures and civilizations come together, emphasizing its significance for India.
