TNSTC to Operate 14,963 Buses for Ayudha Puja
The Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) will operate a total of 14,963 regular and special buses from Chennai to various parts of Tamil Nadu for the upcoming Ayudha Puja festival. The festival will be celebrated on October 19, and the additional bus services are planned to help people travel to their hometowns and other destinations.
Transport Minister A. Vijay Tamilan Parthiban announced the arrangements after chairing a high-level coordination committee meeting in Chennai on Tuesday.
According to the Minister, 8,764 regular buses and 6,199 special buses will operate from Chennai between October 15 and October 18. These services are expected to help manage the increase in passenger numbers during the festival period.
Many people living and working in Chennai travel to their hometowns during Ayudha Puja to celebrate the festival with their families. The additional bus services aim to reduce overcrowding and make travel more convenient for passengers.
The transport department has planned these services to meet the expected increase in demand during the holiday season. Passengers travelling to different parts of the State can use the additional buses to reach their destinations.
The special bus operations are part of the State government’s efforts to provide better transport facilities during major festivals and help passengers travel safely and comfortably.
