Mariska Hargitay is best known around the world for playing Detective Olivia Benson on the long-running television series Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. However, before becoming one of television’s most recognized drama stars, Hargitay had a very different career goal. She originally dreamed of becoming a comedian.
Early in her acting career, Hargitay trained with The Groundlings, a well-known comedy and improvisation group.
