Sivakarthikeyan Turns “Not Hero Material” Into Superstar

Sivakarthikeyan gave fans a big laugh while promoting his latest hit, Amaran.
He shared a funny memory from his early days as an Assistant Director on Nelson
Dilipkumar’s long-delayed film Vettai Mannan (2010–12).

“Back then, we used to sit on Marina Beach and write the script for hours,”
SK said with his smile. “Nelson anna would be shouting non-stop, and half the
words were pure beep! One evening, I got the courage to tell producer Shirish
seriously – ‘Anna, one day I want to become a hero.’ He looked at me from top
to bottom and replied instantly: ‘Why do you need all this useless stuff?’”

The audience laughed loudly as SK mimicked Shirish’s expression perfectly.
Fast-forward 15 years, and Sivakarthikeyan is now one of Tamil cinema’s biggest
stars, delivering hit after hit. As for Shirish? Every time they meet, the
producer turns red and still feels guilty about that harsh comment on Marina
Beach!

From being told he wasn’t “hero material” to becoming the people’s hero, SK
turned a rude remark into a success story. True king!
