Amit Shah Stresses Bhagavad Gita’s Solutions for Society’s Problems

Union Home Minister Amit Shah emphasized the Bhagavad Gita’s teachings as solutions to society’s problems during the International Gita Festival. Speaking at the Sant Sammelan, Shah highlighted the Gita’s universal appeal, with scholars worldwide recognizing it as a guide for addressing global challenges. Shah referenced the Mahabharat and Lord Krishna’s message to Arjuna, underscoring the importance of duty and righteousness.

He corrected the perception that spreading the Gita’s message would eliminate war, explaining its context as a call to fulfill one’s duty. Shah credited his mother for introducing him to the Gita in childhood, shaping his resilience. The Gita Festival, organized since 2016, aims to promote the scripture’s teachings globally, reflecting Prime Minister Modi’s vision. Assam is the partner state for this year’s festival.

Shah acknowledged Modi’s efforts in fostering cultural and religious renaissance, including the Ram temple’s construction and ending triple talaq. He highlighted achievements like the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor, Mahakal Lok Corridor, and the Sengol installation in the new Parliament building.
