Andhra Pradesh High Court Dismisses N. Chandrababu Naidu’s Petition to Quash FIR
The Andhra Pradesh High Court has dismissed the petition of former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu seeking to quash the FIR registered against him in a skill development case and to set aside his judicial remand. The high court ruled against the TDP chief, who had challenged his arrest and judicial remand, stating that the case against him was not politically motivated.
Naidu was arrested by the CID on September 9 in connection with the establishment of Centers of Excellence (CoEs) during his tenure as chief minister. The CID alleged a fraud that caused a significant loss to the state government. Naidu’s judicial custody was extended until September 24, and his plea for house custody was rejected by the Vijayawada ACB Court.
