Annamalai Criticizes DMK’s Economic Policies Amid Rising Costs

Tamil Nadu BJP president K. Annamalai criticized the DMK’s portrayal of welfare benefits as “savings,” highlighting the surge in prices for essentials like milk and electricity. Annamalai accused the DMK of mismanaging public funds, noting that the state’s transportation woes have worsened with 6,000 buses off the road and unfulfilled promises of electric buses.

His remarks followed Tamil Nadu Minister Palanivel Thiaga Rajan’s response to PM Modi’s critique of free bus travel for women, which Modi claimed undermined metro usage and environmental goals. Annamalai further questioned the state’s decision to award a smart classroom equipment tender to a Kerala firm over a local Tamil Nadu corporation.
