BMTC Officers Accused of Forgery and Embezzlement Arrested in Karnataka
The Karnataka Police have arrested one person and filed an FIR against seven officers from the Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) for allegedly forging senior officers’ signatures and using fake seals to cause substantial financial losses to the BMTC.
The accused officers, including a former chief traffic manager and several assistant managers, are alleged to have forged signatures and seals of senior BMTC officials to embezzle approximately Rs 17.64 crore (around $2.3 million). The accused officers have been suspended, and the police are searching for the others involved in the case.
