BRS Criticises VC Sajjanar Over Phone-Tapping Statement
The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has strongly objected to some words used by VC Sajjanar, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) chief and Hyderabad Police Commissioner, regarding the ongoing phone-tapping case in Telangana. The party said the wording suggested that investigators were forming opinions even before a court decided the matter.
The controversy arose after Sajjanar stated that his team had completed questioning former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) as part of the investigation. In official communications, Sajjanar referred to the incident as “illegal phone tapping.”
BRS leaders said using the term “illegal” was inappropriate at this stage and could create a biased impression about the case. They insisted that the investigation should not prejudge the issue and should respect judicial processes.
The party’s reaction highlights the sensitivity of the high-profile case, which has drawn public and political attention in Telangana. Officials from both sides are expected to maintain careful communication as the investigation continues.
