Bus Cleaner Arrested for Alleged Rape of Class 9 Student in Karnataka

A 24-year-old bus cleaner has been arrested by Karnataka Police on charges of raping a Class 9 girl student. The incident took place in the Dabaspet police station limits in Bengaluru Rural district.

The 14-year-old girl, who traveled to school in a private bus, went missing a week ago, prompting her parents to file a complaint with the police. Subsequent investigations led the police to the accused, identified as Anand, who had taken the girl to a rented house in Bengaluru. The police rescued the victim and discovered that Anand had a prior POCSO case in 2021. Released last year, he allegedly exploited the latest victim after his release.
