Chennai Corporation Identifies 2,139 Roads for Relaying

Responding to complaints from local residents about bad roads, Chennai Corporation has identified 51 bus route roads and 2,088 interior roads for re-laying. Once the model code of conduct is lifted, funding agencies are expected to decide on releasing funds for the work.

The re-laying of these roads is expected to commence after July and be completed within three months. Already, the Corporation has taken up the relaying of 6,517 roads, of which 5,047 have been completed, and work on the remaining 446 roads is currently underway, according to an official statement.
