DMK Panchayat President Arrested for Alleged Role in Senior Functionary’s Murder

In a shocking development, DMK Panchayat president Muthamizhselvi, 50, along with her driver Durairaj, 36, was apprehended by Otteri police for their suspected involvement in the murder of Deputy Chairman of Kattankulathur Panchayat Union, V.S. Aramudhan, 60. Aramudhan was ambushed by a gang while traveling near the Walajabad bridge, brutally attacked with knives, and left to perish.

The arrest came following a confession from eight individuals who surrendered before Sathyamangalam and Srivilliputhur courts. Investigators discovered a chilling similarity between this murder and the 2016 killing of Muthamizhselvi’s husband, Vijayaraj, raising suspicions about her role. Muthamizhselvi allegedly confessed to paying ₹20 lakh to the main accused, Kanagaraj, and his associates to carry out the heinous crime, shedding light on a dark nexus of political intrigue and violence.
