Dorgu Scores First Goal as United Beat Newcastle

Patrick Dorgu scored his first goal for Manchester United as the team beat Newcastle 1–0 in an exciting Premier League match on Friday.

The 21-year-old midfielder scored midway through the first half with a powerful left-foot volley from about 15 metres. His goal gave Manchester United their first home league win in four matches and moved the club to fifth place in the table, above Liverpool. However, Liverpool will play bottom-placed Wolves at home on Saturday.

After the match, a happy Dorgu said, “It was a good shot. I didn’t even know I could do that.”

United played without captain Bruno Fernandes, and several other regular players were missing due to injuries or Africa Cup of Nations duties. The team also played with a different defensive formation.

The first half was fairly even, with Dorgu’s goal being the main highlight. It was his first goal in 38 matches for the club.

In the second half, United suffered a setback when Mason Mount was forced off due to injury at half-time. Newcastle started strongly and created several chances.

Newcastle came close to scoring when Lewis Hall hit the crossbar with a long-range shot after 62 minutes. Anthony Gordon also missed a good chance soon after, but United managed to hold on for the win.
