In Chennai, a 36-year-old man, Abdul Qayyum, has been sentenced to five-and-a-half years in prison for causing the death of a 21-year-old woman, A. Yamuna, in a road accident two years ago. The man was convicted of driving his luxury car recklessly and colliding with Yamuna’s two-wheeler at the EVR Periyar Salai-Barnaby Road junction in Kilpauk.
