Tamil Nadu’s Minister for Law, Courts, Prisons, and Correctional Services, S. Regupathy, inaugurated a drug de-addiction center within the Puzhal Central Prison. During the event, the minister also unveiled a coffee table book titled “RRR” (Reformation, Rehabilitation, and Reintegration). Additionally, traditional village games like lemon and spoon races, tug-of-war, pot breaking, and musical chairs were introduced at Central Prison-I (Convict), Puzhal, in partnership with the NGO SIFEL.

Many prisoners actively participated in these games, and Minister Regupathy expressed the intention to introduce similar activities in all Central Prisons throughout the state. The initiative aims to make prisoners more receptive to rehabilitation efforts while fostering a sense of camaraderie among them, as stated by the Director-General of Police and Director of Prisons and Correctional Services, Amaraesh Pujari.
