Dug-up roads and the pothole on Valasaravakkam Road give commuters a bumpy ride

Dug-up roads and pothole-filled stretches in Valasaravakkam are causing a bumpy ride for commuters. Metrowater’s ongoing work to provide household connections has worsened the road conditions, affecting both main and interior roads. The situation has become tougher for residents with Arcot Road already in a poor state due to Metro Rail construction.

Roads that were once in good condition were dug up for pipe installation, but no proper re-laying has been done. Residents, like E.V. Rajaram, have been facing this issue for the past two to three years, with the situation deteriorating in the last six months. Despite awareness among councilors and Metrowater, there is no clear completion date provided for the road restoration.
