ED Seizes Cash and SUV in Money Laundering Case at Hemant Soren’s Residence

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has seized ₹36 lakh in cash, an SUV, and incriminating documents from the Delhi residence of Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren during a search related to a money laundering case. The officials, present at Soren’s residence for almost 13 hours, were investigating his involvement in an alleged land deal case in Jharkhand.

The ED teams discovered ₹36 lakh in cash, an HR (Haryana) number-plated BMW registered under a “benami” name, and various incriminating documents during the operation. Soren has expressed his readiness to depose before the ED on January 31 at his Ranchi residence. The ruling alliance in Jharkhand has called for a meeting on January 30 to discuss the current political situation.
