Farmers Extend Protest at Punjab-Haryana Borders, Postpone ‘Delhi Chalo’ March

In a significant decision, farmer leaders leading the ongoing agitation at the Punjab-Haryana borders have announced the postponement of the ‘Delhi Chalo’ march until February 29. This decision comes in the wake of recent clashes resulting in the death of a protester and injuries to several police personnel. The Samyukta Kisan Morcha (Non-Political) and Kisan Mazdoor Morcha have declared that farmers will continue their protest at the Shambhu and Khanauri borders, focusing on various activities to further their cause.

Planned events include a candle march, seminars on agricultural issues, and effigy burnings of the World Trade Organization and the central government. Additionally, meetings of farmer forums associated with SKM and KMM will be held to strategize the future course of action. Amid demands for justice and compensation, tensions remain high as farmers vow to press on until their grievances are addressed, showcasing the resilience and determination of the farming community in the face of adversity.
