Fatal Pile-Up on Bengaluru-Mumbai Highway: Two Killed, Four Injured

A tragic pile-up occurred on the Bengaluru-Mumbai Highway at Katraj, resulting in at least two fatalities and injuries to four individuals. The accident involved a speeding container truck colliding with three vehicles around 3:30 a.m. on the Dari Bridge near the newly-built Jambhulwadi tunnel. The truck, en route from Satara, collided forcefully with five vehicles heading to Mumbai, causing severe damage.

The impact trapped individuals, particularly those in the rear seats. Local villagers assisted the Pune Police and fire brigade in the rescue efforts. This incident follows another pile-up on the Bandra Worli Sea Link in Mumbai, where an SUV crashed into several vehicles, claiming three lives and injuring six.
