Former JD(U) MLA Faces Rape Allegation Amid Double Murder Case

Rambalak Singh, a former JD(U) MLA from Bihar’s Bibhutipur Assembly Constituency, who is already incarcerated in connection with a double murder case, now faces a rape allegation. A woman from Samastipur has filed a case at the Rosera sub-divisional court, accusing Singh of sexually assaulting her at gunpoint on July 17, 2022.

According to her account, she was intercepted by Singh’s supporters near a bus stand, who claimed he wanted to meet her at a hotel. Allegedly, Singh assaulted her and detained her overnight, even recording the incident and threatening her with severe consequences if she spoke up. The victim claimed that Singh later uploaded the video on social media on March 4 this year.

Notably, Singh and his brother were apprehended in March 2023 over the double murder case involving the killing of a mukhiya and another individual from Samastipur.
