Former KKR Cricketer Warns About Muzarabani’s Struggles in IPL 2026
Manoj Tiwary, a former Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) player, has expressed concerns about Zimbabwean bowler Blessing Muzarabani’s performance in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL). Tiwary believes Muzarabani might struggle on pitches that don’t suit his bowling style, such as those in Mumbai and Bengaluru.
Muzarabani joined KKR after performing well in the T20 World Cup 2026, where he took 13 wickets, including a impressive 4/17 against Australia. However, during IPL last year with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), he didn’t get to play due to an injury replacement role.
Tiwary explained that Indian pitches vary widely, and while Muzarabani might find help in Mumbai and Bengaluru, other venues could be challenging for him. KKR is dealing with injuries to key bowlers Harshit Rana and Akash Deep, and Sri Lankan pacer Matheesha Pathirana won’t be available until mid-April.
KKR’s options include Muzarabani or Indian fast bowlers like Umran Malik and Navdeep Saini. They also have spinners Varun Chakravarthy and Sunil Narine, who are likely to be in the playing XI. Tiwary predicts Muzarabani might spend most of IPL on the bench, as KKR’s foreign player quota is already filled with Finn Allen, Cameron Green, and Narine.
Overall, Tiwary suggests KKR may rely more on their Indian bowlers and spin options for the tournament.
