Greater Chennai Corporation Council Approves Infrastructure Projects in Various Zones

The Greater Chennai Corporation Council has passed resolutions allowing the Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority (CMDA) to undertake several civic infrastructure projects in different zones of the city. These projects include the redevelopment of the Vyasarpadi Kannigapuram Sports Complex at a cost of ₹20 crore, the renovation of a football ground in Puzhal Mettupalayam at a cost of ₹1.5 crores, the construction of a new school in Puzhal Mahalakshmi Nagar at a cost of ₹4 crore, and the redevelopment of a Dhobikhana at Purasawalkam Conran Smith Road costing ₹10 crore.

Additionally, the CMDA will renovate the daily vegetable market and community center in Ennore at a cost of ₹5 crore and establish a park on 1.4 acres of land in Ramapuram. The Puliyur Canal in Kodambakkam will also undergo beautification, with a budget of ₹5 crore allocated for the project. These developments aim to enhance civic amenities and infrastructure in various parts of Chennai.
